Biorefinery methods for extraction of oil and protein from rubber seed

Abstract Rubber seeds are a by-product of rubber production and rich in oil protein. Upgrading to produce proteins, oils feedstock can generate additional revenue for reduce waste. The present study investigates the effects different pre-treatments extraction methods determine optimal protein from seed kernels. Mechanical expulsion using screw press solvent n-hexane were employed separation. highest recovery efficiency 95.12% was obtained meal that pre-dried at 105 ℃. sequential water–alkaline treatment ideal achieving high while reducing denaturation result operating temperatures organic contact. Over 90% total kernels could be recovered. Separating hexane followed by meals enzymatic provides suitable method comprehensive utilization seeds.
